Session on Saturday, June 7, 1-4pm at the UCLA Extension at Figueroa Courtyard
in Downtown Los Angeles
Are you a bilingual speaker of English and
Mandarin Chinese looking for a career in a dynamic new field? Career
opportunities for professional interpreters are expanding rapidly in Los
Angeles. The Los Angeles Times calls it a “hot job.” Because of demand, Mandarin is now a language
requiring State certification for court interpreters.
UCLA Extension invites
you to learn more about:
* The profession of Interpretation and
Translation
* Career opportunities in business, legal, medical, and community
interpreting
* UCLA Extension's part-time interpreter training program
(classes meet on Saturdays)
Entrance Exam: The information session is followed by a written
entrance exam for people interested in applying to UCLA Extension's newly
designed program in Interpretation and Translation, Chinese/English. At that
time, applicants are expected to complete the written application form and pay a
non-refundable $75 application fee (check or credit card only).
